Supervision Policy

1. Purpose of This Policy

At Inflatable Giant, the safety, wellbeing, and enjoyment of all children and guests is our top priority. This Supervision Policy clearly outlines the responsibilities of parents, guardians, and accompanying adults while using our premises.

Inflatable Giant provides a supervised play environment; however, it does not provide childcare, babysitting, or one-to-one supervision of children.

Entry to the venue constitutes full acceptance of this policy, along with all Terms & Conditions and waiver requirements.

2. Parent / Guardian Responsibility

All children remain at all times under the full responsibility, care, and supervision of their parent, legal guardian, or responsible accompanying adult.

Parents and guardians are solely responsible for:

  • supervising their child at all times;
  • ensuring safe behaviour and rule compliance;
  • monitoring their child’s physical ability and condition;
  • ensuring their child uses appropriate play areas;
  • remaining available and reachable at all times.

Inflatable Giant staff monitor the facility generally but do not replace parental supervision.

3. Drop-Off Policy (Age, Capability & Full Parental Responsibility)

Inflatable Giant may allow children to remain on the premises without a parent or guardian present depending on the child’s age, maturity, behaviour, and ability to independently and safely participate, as determined at the sole discretion of Inflatable Giant management.

Approval for drop-off is not automatic and may be refused if the child is deemed:

  • too young;
  • not sufficiently mature;
  • unable to follow rules or instructions;
  • requiring close supervision due to physical, behavioural, or emotional factors.

Where drop-off is permitted:

  • the parent or guardian must complete all required registration and waiver requirements;
  • must provide valid contact details;
  • must remain reachable at all times;
  • must be able to return promptly if requested.

Full Parental Responsibility in Drop-Off Situations

Where a parent or guardian chooses to leave the premises and drop off a child, they acknowledge and agree that they do so entirely at their own risk and sole responsibility.

Inflatable Giant shall not be held responsible or liable for any incident, injury, behaviour, distress, loss, or event affecting the child during any period where:

  • the parent or guardian is not physically present;
  • the child is left on-site without direct supervision;
  • the child’s actions, decisions, or interactions result in any outcome.

The act of dropping off a child constitutes full acceptance that all risks, consequences, and responsibilities remain solely with the parent or guardian.

Inflatable Giant staff provide general supervision of the facility only and do not assume parental or guardian duties under any circumstances.

Inflatable Giant reserves the right, at any time, to:

  • refuse or revoke drop-off permission;
  • require immediate collection of the child;
  • restrict access to certain areas;
  • take any action necessary in the interest of safety and operations.

Failure of a parent or guardian to remain reachable or to collect a child when requested may result in:

  • suspension of the child’s participation;
  • refusal of future drop-off privileges;
  • escalation to appropriate authorities if necessary for the child’s safety.

4. Definition of Responsible Supervising Adult

A responsible supervising adult must:

  • be aged 18 years or above;
  • be mentally and physically capable;
  • not be impaired or distracted;
  • be able to intervene when necessary.

Inflatable Giant may refuse entry if supervision is deemed inadequate.

5. Age-Appropriate Supervision

A. Toddlers and Younger Children

Must be under close and active supervision at all times.

B. Older Children

May have limited independence only where appropriate or permitted under the Drop-Off Policy, but remain fully under parental responsibility.

C. Groups / Siblings

Supervising adults must ensure they can manage all children effectively.

6. Staff Role and Limits

Staff are present to:

  • monitor operations;
  • enforce rules;
  • assist with safety.

However, staff:

  • do not supervise individual children;
  • are not responsible for tracking children;
  • do not provide personal care or medical assistance;
  • do not assume parental responsibility, including in drop-off situations.

7. Continuous Supervision Requirement

Where a parent or guardian remains on-site, they must actively supervise children at all times.

Supervision is not adequate if the adult is:

  • distracted (phone, laptop);
  • absent from the play area;
  • sleeping;
  • overly engaged socially;
  • unable to intervene quickly.

8. Café and Viewing Areas

Parents using café or seating areas remain fully responsible for supervision.

Visibility does not equal supervision. Parents must remain attentive and able to intervene immediately.

9. Party Bookings and Groups

For parties and group visits:

  • the parent or organiser remains responsible for supervision;
  • sufficient adult-to-child ratios must be maintained;
  • staff and entertainers do not replace supervision responsibilities;
  • drop-off rules under Point 3 still apply unless otherwise agreed in writing.

10. Behaviour Control

Parents must ensure children:

  • do not act dangerously or aggressively;
  • follow rules and instructions;
  • respect other guests and staff.

Inflatable Giant may remove any child or guest for unsafe behaviour.

11. Medical and Special Needs

Parents must ensure children are fit to participate independently or with supervision.

Inflatable Giant must be informed of any:

  • medical conditions;
  • behavioural needs;
  • special supervision requirements.

Children requiring additional supervision must not be left unattended under the Drop-Off Policy unless fully capable.

12. Illness, Injury, and Emergencies

Parents remain primarily responsible at all times, including drop-off situations.

Staff may assist, but are not liable for care decisions.

Parents must remain reachable and able to return immediately if required.

13. Lost or Separated Children

Parents are responsible for ensuring children are not separated.

In drop-off cases, Inflatable Giant will act reasonably to safeguard the child but assumes no parental duty.

14. Collection Responsibility

Parents must ensure safe and timely collection.

Failure to collect a child when requested may result in further action, including restriction of future access.

15. Assumption of Risk

All play activities carry inherent risks.

By allowing participation (including drop-off), parents:

  • accept these risks;
  • confirm the child is capable of participating safely;
  • accept full responsibility for outcomes.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Inflatable Giant is not liable for:

  • lack of supervision or dropped-off children;
  • unattended or unsupervised behaviour;
  • misuse of equipment;
  • failure to follow rules;
  • actions of other guests;
  • decisions made by children in drop-off situations.

17. Right to Enforce

Inflatable Giant may:

  • refuse entry;
  • revoke drop-off permission;
  • require immediate collection;
  • remove guests;
  • deny future access.

No refunds apply in such cases.

18. Guest Acknowledgment

By entering, booking, or allowing a child to participate (including drop-off), guests confirm they:

  • accept full responsibility for the child;
  • understand staff do not provide childcare;
  • agree to all supervision terms.

19. Policy Updates

Inflatable Giant may update this policy at any time without prior notice.
